Welcome

In the 1970s my Grandfather William Canning researched his mother Catherine's paternal ancestry the Mornin family of County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

This study starting in Ireland is looking at not just the family that my Grandfather researched but all with the name Mornin and variations Morning & Mornan.

Initial questions are:
Is there a connection between families of different faiths?
What are the origins of the family?

The study will over time spread around the world with Scotland and the rest of the UK after Ireland, then the US, finally other countries in the rest of the world.

I would love to hear from anyone connected to the names Mornin, Morning, Mornan or any other variant.

NOTES: Linking the places to maps and providing information about individual places is a work-in-progress and will be done as and when I have time. An example of what the places will start to look like is Aird, County Antrim. A document detailing my method of adding places will also follow.
